The Incheon Yeonsu-gu Little League team, led by head coach Kim Jae-hyun, has been crowned champions of the National Little League Baseball Tournament.
The Yeonsu District Little Baseball Team won the 2023 U10 Under-10 National Little Baseball Tournament held at the Hwaseong Dream Park Baseball Field from April 18-25.
Led by coach Kim, the Yeonsu-gu Little Baseball Team defeated the Namdongdong Little Baseball Team 8-4 in the final on the 25th. Captain Hong Seok-young was named MVP. Hong went 13-for-22 with 13 RBIs and a 5-for-9 batting average in the tournament.
The runner-up was the Incheon Namdong-gu Little Baseball Team. 먹튀검증 Third place went to Daegu Dalseo-gu Little Baseball Team and Gimpo City Little Baseball Team.
After winning the championship,
Coach Kim Jae-hyun said, “My mother passed away on October 26. I think she helped me a lot in heaven. I will coach the players with a more grateful heart.”
“I’m happy that we were able to end the season with a win,” Kim said, “We had good pitching and solid defense, so we didn’t give up many runs during the tournament and scored first in every game. For the most part, we were able to play comfortably,” he reflected.
“The improvement in my batting is thanks to Yeonsu-gu and Yeonsu-gu Mayor Lee Jae-ho this summer. They gave us a pitching machine, which helped us improve our offense.”
“I am also grateful to Mayor Lee Jae-ho, Dr. Cha Min-kyung, Dr. Jung Seok-doo, Team Manager Kim Duck-hwan, and Manager Kim Do-wan. And thank you to Coach Oh Min-cheol and Coach Shin Se-jin for their good coaching to help the players do well.”
Incheon Yeonsu-gu Little League coach Kim Jae-hyun, who led the championship team, and Namdong-gu coach Baek Seung-sul, who led the runner-up team, shared the coach’s award. Yeonsu-gu player Hong Seok-young received the Exemplary Award and Namdong-gu player Hong Ji-hwan received the Encouragement Award.

The Yeonsu District Little League team, led by Kim, finished as runners-up at the 4th MLB CUP U-10 National Little League Baseball Tournament, hosted by the MLB and organized by the Korea Little League Federation (President Yoo Seung-an) at Kangchang Hak Baseball Stadium in Seogwipo from October 4 to 8.
