Kim Jae-yoon, the KBO’s top closer, has chosen the Samsung Lions.
Samsung announced on the 22nd that it signed Kim Jae-yoon to a four-year contract for a total of 5.8 billion won, including a down payment of 2 billion won, a total of 2.8 billion won in salary, and a total of 1 billion won in incentives.
This is Samsung’s first free agent signing under new head coach Lee Jong-yeol.
“He is expected to be the best player to secure victory on the mound at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu,” Samsung said, explaining the reasoning behind the deal.
Since joining the KT Wiz in 2015, Kim has appeared in 481 professional games, compiling a 44-33 record with 17 shutouts and 169 saves. 토토
In terms of saves alone, he ranks third among active players behind Oh Seung-hwan (Samsung Lions – 400 saves) and Jung Woo-ram (Hanwha Eagles – 197 saves).
Since 2021, he has recorded more than 30 saves in three consecutive seasons and is considered one of the best closers in the league.
“The Samsung Lions I saw in the 2015 season, when I debuted in the KBO, were an unbeatable team,” said Kim Jae-yoon, “and I want to do my best to build a dynasty once again.”
“We signed Kim Jae-yoon because we thought he was the best resource among FFA pitchers, and we want to emphasize the fact that we strengthened our bullpen, which was the weakest part of the team this season,” Lee said.
