NC Dinos first baseman Eric Pedi has been named the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) Defensive Pitcher of the Year.
The KBO announced on Sunday that Peddy was named the winner of the KBO Defensive Player of the Year Award for pitchers, while Guillermo Heredia (left fielder, Essex Rangers), Hae-min Park (center fielder, Elsie Twins) and Chang-ki Hong (right fielder, Elsie Twins) were named the winners for outfielders.

The KBO Defensive Award, which recognizes the most outstanding defensive performance in the regular season by position, was established for the first time this year.

The award is based on a combination of 75 percent of the votes cast by 110 managers, coaches, and general managers from each club and 25 percent of defensive record points.



Pedi, who received a total of 19 votes, earned a total of 94.91 points (75 points for voting and 19.91 points for pitcher fielding record) to win the inaugural KBO Defensive Award. 토토사이트

Pedi was followed by Ko Young-pyo (Katie Wiz – 94.21 points) and David Buchanan (Samsung Lions – 92.71 points) in second and third place, respectively. Peddie, who clinched the Pitcher’s Triple Crown by finishing first in wins (20), strikeouts (209), and ERA (2.00), is the favorite for Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Left fielder Heredia earned 90 total points (75 voting points and 15 defensive record points) to win the left fielder category, ahead of runner-up Moon Sung-ju (Elsie Twins – 85 points) and third-place Jose Pirela (Samsung Lions – 52.5 points).




Center fielder Park Hae-min earned a total of 93.06 points (75 voting points – 18.06 defensive record points), beating out Jung Soo-bin (Doosan Bears – 87.5 points) and Choi Jae-dae (Katie Wiz – 69.44 points).
In the right fielder category, Hong Chang-ki earned a total of 94.64 points (75 voting points – 19.64 defensive record points) to win the award over runners-up Park Gun-woo (NC Dinos) and Yoon Dong-hee (Lotte Giants), who both earned 73.21 points.
The winners will receive trophies and a cash prize of 2 million won at the KBO Awards Ceremony at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
