It has been claimed that Son Heung-min (Tottenham) has been named the English Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month for December.
Tottenham fan account ‘COYS News’ posted on social media (SNS) on December 9 (KST) that “Son Heung-min has been named the EPL POTM (Player of the Month) for December”.
Its authenticity is unknown.

Player of the Month awards are usually leaked with a photo of the winner before the official announcement.

There was no photo to confirm the award, but there was a specific date for the announcement.
According to the outlet, the EPL office was expected to announce the player of the month on December 12.

If Son is named Player of the Month for December, as expected, it will be his fifth career award.

He has won the award four times before, tying him with legends like Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer (now retired).
He will join the likes of Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie (retired) as December’s players. 토토

Son Heung-min will once again make history in South Korean soccer.
His former teammates Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and Sergio Aguero (retired) are the most prolific winners of the award. They have been named Player of the Month seven times each.

If he wins Player of the Month this time, he’ll tie them with two more awards.

At his current pace, it’s certainly possible.

With four goals and four assists in seven league games in December, Heung-min is up against Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Mateusz Cunha (Wolverhampton), Mohamed Kudus (West Ham United), Michael Oliseh (Crystal Palace), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Marcos Senesi and Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth) for the Player of the Month award.
Son has the most offensive points among the eight nominees.

Since the Player of the Month is determined by fan and expert voting, he has a leg up.

Bournemouth’s Senesi and Solanke are also strong contenders.

They have been key to Bournemouth’s four wins in six games in December.

Striker Solanke scored six goals in the month, while defender Senesi scored two goals and provided one assist while keeping three clean sheets.

However, Bournemouth supporters could be split on their votes, giving Son a slight advantage.
