“Bookings have begun” on the W Macau hotel website for all dates from September 8th, sent to GGRAsia in response to our inquiry in an email sent on Monday.

W Macao will “open Sept. 8” at Studio City, a Macau casino resort property majority-owned by global gaming company Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd, according to data released Thursday on behalf of hotel giant Marriott International’s flagship W Hotels. W Macao will add 557 rooms and suites (e.g., photos) to the complex.

When GGRAsia checked Marriott International’s reservation engine on Monday, the earliest reservation could be found was a night in the second half of October, and the cheapest king bed room with a kotai view was priced at MOP1,940 (roughly US$240). The note says such rooms are “almost sold out.”

On the same October date, the price of available rooms mentioned on the website ranged from MOP2,430 for the cheapest twin bedrooms with city views. Again, the message “almost sold out” came out.

According to a Friday email sent on behalf of Hotel W to GGRAsia, as of that date, “Bookings after March 1, 2024 are already open, and for the period between September 8, 2023 and March 1, 2024, the team is in the final stages of preparation needed to open bookings for this particular period.”

In April, Studio City announced the opening of the initial additional tower at the second stage of the 338-suite Epic Tower. Lawrence Ho Yau Lung, president and chief executive officer of Melco Resorts, said he was opening the company’s “for known customers first” at GGRAsia.

Melco Resorts is spending about $1.2 billion on the entire second phase of Studio City, including two existing hotel towers and two new hotel towers to complement its indoor water parks.
