Ecogra has been authorised to operate as a Certification Laboratory in Peru.

This will allow the regulatory audit company to offer its services to operators and studios in the region, including iGaming testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services.

The authorisation was granted by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), which approved further iGaming and sports betting regulations back in October.

By securing this foothold in Peru, Ecogra now holds operations in all key regulated markets in LatAm and in 38 different jurisdictions worldwide.

Bradley Khoury, Ecogra Chief Technical Officer, said: “We are thrilled to receive the green light to offer our services in Peru.

“This approval not only recognises our unwavering dedication to the highest industry standards but also reinforces our position as a trusted partner in the global online gaming sector.

“We are committed to working closely with Peruvian operators and software providers to ensure the integrity and fairness of online gambling offerings.”

In addition, Ecogra recently opened an office in Colorado and appointed several senior team members as part of its global expansion.

Speaking on the topic earlier this year, Juan Carlos Mathews, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru, said: “This is the first time that this important economic activity is regulated in the country.

“In South America, Peru becomes the third country to regulate it, after Colombia and Argentina (in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Cordoba, and Mendoza).”

Operators who wish to launch an online casino or sports betting platform should submit their application to the MINCETUR through its dedicated online portal by 13 March 2024.

Ecogra isn’t the only certification laboratory to gain accreditation in Peru, though, as Asensi Technologies confirmed the same thing this morning.
