The annual casino sales of Paradise Inc., South Korea’s foreign-only gaming site operator, rose 112.8 percent year-on-year to slightly above 744.15 billion won ($567.8 million), according to data submitted to the Korea Exchange on Tuesday.
Table game sales amounted to about W696.7 billion, up 118.8 percent from a year ago. Machine game sales on the calendar for 2023 amounted to W474.5 billion, up 51.9 percent from 2022.
Paradise saw casino sales approach 64.6 billion won in December, up 17.9% and 37.9% from a year ago.
December’s table game revenue tally rose 37.1 percent from a year ago and 19.6 percent from the previous month to 60.14 billion won. December’s machine game revenue came to 4.45 billion won, up 49.2 percent from a year ago but down slightly from November.
The company’s monthly update does not provide a comment on the reasons for the earnings change.
Dec. Table Drop – The amount of cash customers exchanged for chips at the game table rose 6.6% sequentially to W581.53 billion. The drop was 24.3% year-on-year.
For the full year 2023, Paradise’s table drop was slightly above W6.17 trillion, up 114.2% year-over-year.
Paradise Co.’s latest casino figures are based on the results of four venues operated by its casino business division: Walkerhill in Seoul, Jeju Grand on Jeju Island, Busan Casino in the southern port city of Busan, and Paradise City in Incheon, near the main international airport serving the Korean capital, Seoul.
