‘The 23-year-old driver’ Oscar Piastri (AUS-McLaren) has claimed his maiden victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix (GP) of the 2024 Formula One (F1) World Championship, just two years after making his debut.

Piastri was the first to take the chequered flag in the Hungaroring (4.381 kilometers – 70 laps) at the Hungaroring (4.381 kilometers – 70 laps) in Mojo Road, Hungary, on Sunday (Nov. 21) in the Hungarian GP, the 13th round of the 2024 F1 World Championship, with a time of 1 hour, 38 minutes, 01.989 seconds.

After a strong start to his F1 career last season, with two podium finishes (Japan GP, 3rd – Qatar GP, 2nd) and a ninth place in the drivers’ standings, Piastri has finally achieved his ‘maiden victory’ in his second year in the sport after two second place finishes (Monaco GP, Australian GP).

McLaren driver Lando Norris (GBR) crossed the line 2.141 seconds behind in second place, while Lewis Hamilton (GBR), the ‘veteran’ with the most F1 Grand Prix wins (104), finished third, 14.880 seconds behind Pistorius.

McLaren scored a ‘one-two finish’ with Piastri and Norris finishing first and second side-by-side.

Hamilton became the first driver in F1 history to claim his 200th career podium.

Second and third on the list of most podiums are retired F1 legends Michael Schumacher (155) and Sebastian Vettel (Germany – 122), leaving Red Bull’s Max Verstappen (Belgium – 107) in fourth place as the favorite to overtake Hamilton.

Piastri, who was second in qualifying, took the lead at the start from Norris, who started from pole, at the first corner.

A fierce battle for the lead ensued, with Norris taking the lead midway through the race and Piastri following close behind.

Norris then passed Piastri for the lead on lap 68, and Piastri crossed the line first and fastest.

It was awkward to see Norris relinquish the top spot to Piastri at the end of the race, but there was a reason for it.

McLaren had decided to make Norris’s final pit stop faster than Piastri’s in order to keep Hamilton at bay, which allowed Norris to take the lead.

McLaren instructed Norris to relinquish the lead to Piastri because of the reversed pit order, but Norris stayed out front.

Norris eventually gave way to Piastri with three laps to go, allowing Piastri to take the victory. 안전한 파워볼사이트
