South Korean figure women’s single “Ganpan” Lee Hae-in (Sehwa Girls’ High School) cruised to her first individual medal at the International Ice Skating Union (ISU) Senior Grand Prix.
Lee scored 33.99 technical elements (TES) and 32.31 artistic elements (PCS) for a total of 66.30 points in the women’s single short program at the Grand Prix de France, the third event of the 2023-2024 ISU Senior Grand Prix, at the Angers Ice Park in Angers, France, on Wednesday

(Feb. 3) to finish third behind Isabo Levito (USA – 71.38 points) and Anastasia Kubanova (Georgia – 66.73 points).
Just 5.08 points behind leader Levito and 0.43 points behind second-place Kubanova, Lee will attempt to pull off an upset in the free skate on Thursday.

After finishing fourth at both Senior Grand Prix events last season and missing out on a medal, Lee’s third-place finish in the short program gave her the green light for her first medal challenge.
Her performance left something to be desired in her jump rotation.
After earning 0.99 points for her first jump, a double axel (base score of 3.30), Lee was judged to have insufficient rotation in her second jump, a triple lutz-triple toeloop combination (base score of 9.26), and lost 2.11 points of her GOE.
A triple flip (base score of 5.83) performed in the counting section was ruled a quarter-landing (insufficient rotation at the 90-degree level of the jump), losing 0.30 GOE points.
He finished his performance with a sitspin, a change foot combination spin, and a step sequence, all executed at a level 4.
