Barcelona has targeted Swedish handsome midfielder Lukas Beribal (Jurgården IF), who is attracting the attention of big European clubs.
“Barcelona, which has been looking for a top 10 talent rather than a big star for the past two years,
recently set its sights on Swedish midfielder Lukas Beribal,” Spanish media outlet Football España reported on June 6 (KST).
The Swedish midfielder, born in 2006, is still only 17 years old and has attracted interest from big European clubs.
He’s been playing for Jurgården IF in Sweden this season and already has three goals and one assist in 28 appearances.

“The Nerazzurri have made a formal offer to Verbal, but the race for his signature is considered far from over,”
said a report citing Spanish outlet Relevo, adding that Manchester United are also interested,
while Barcelona have been in contact with Verbal and his agent.
“The player is said to be attracted by the prospect of playing for Barcelona,”
the source added, “and all stages of the transfer will take place from January next year.”
“Jurgorden, who has a contract with Beribal until 2025, could consider selling in January 2024 or in the summer,
but if he can be convinced in February, when he turns 18, he could sign a longer deal.”
With Inter Milan having made a formal offer, which was intercepted by Barcelona,
the player’s next destination is in doubt as he is known to be a huge United fan since childhood.
Verbal has shown his love for the Red Devils on social media, posting photos of himself in a United jersey as a child, and even participated in a United trial in 2021.
In addition to the Red Devils, Verbal also had trials at Juventus and Bayern Munich,
but he joined Swedish club Brommapoikarna and made his first-team debut at the tender age of 16.
