Hanwha wins 6-0 practice match against Lotte

The Hanwha Eagles defeated the Lotte Giants for their second straight exhibition win.

Hanwha swept Lotte Giants 6-0 in an exhibition game at Kushigawa Stadium in Uruma City, Okinawa, Japan, on Feb. 2. After a 5-9 come-from-behind loss against Japan’s Hanshin Tigers’ second team on Feb. 25 and a 5-5 draw against Samsung Lions on Feb. 26, Hanwha improved to 2-1-1 in Okinawa with a 15-2 blowout victory over KT on Feb. 28, showing off its two-hit harmony.

Hanwha’s starting lineup was Choi In-ho (left fielder), Peraza (center fielder), Ahn Chi-hong (first baseman), Noh Si-hwan (third baseman), Chae Eun-sung (designated hitter), Moon Hyun-bin (second baseman), Lee Jae-won (catcher), Lee Do-yoon (shortstop), and Lee Jin-young (right fielder). After two outs against Na Gyun-ahn, Peraza and Ahn Chi-hong hit back-to-back singles, and Noh Si-hwan’s RBI single scored a run to make the score 3-0. In the next at-bat, Chae Eun-sung took a ball from Na Gyun-ahn and blasted a three-run homer to left field to make the score 6-0. Neither team scored any more runs after that, and the game ended with Hanwha’s victory.

After Sanchez pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of one-hit ball with three strikeouts and two walks, Han held the Lotte bats scoreless through six pitchers, including Han Seung-ju (⅔ innings), Lee Tae-young (1 inning), Han Seung-hyeok (1 inning), Moon Dong-joo (2 innings), Kim Ki-jung (1 inning), and Joo Hyun-sang (1 inning).
