The Lotte Giants won the third game of their weekend series against the NC Dinos 13-4 at Sajik Stadium in Busan on Sunday. Led by three home runs, the offense was efficient, scoring 13 runs on 13 hits and five walks.
The victory was Lotte’s 22nd win of the season (32-2) and moved them within half a game of eighth-place Hanwha, which just hired new manager Kim Kyung-moon. It was also a rebound from a midweek sweep of Hanwha. NC, on the other hand, faced the reality of series losses again, having escaped an eight-game losing streak the day before. Lotte’s only win of the week was a 13-5 victory over NC on March 31, but the team lost the other four games, all of them by three runs or less. Desperate to bolster its batting lineup, Lotte called up Son Ho-young and Lee Jung-hoon to the first team.
