The U.S.-based Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, which is traded as Mohegan Gaming, has promoted Chun Si (pictured in file) to president of the Inspired Resort, a Korean corporation also known as Mohegan Inspired. The group also announced that it appointed Wade Hawk as its subsidiary’s chief operating officer (COO).
Inspired Integrated Resort Co. is a Korea-based special purpose corporation wholly owned by Mohegan Gaming. We are developing a resort with a foreigner-only casino in Incheon, Korea.
The first phase of Inspire Entertainment Resort’s business has been described as a US$1.6 billion project that will be phased out in the fourth quarter of this year.
The multi-level plan will house three hotel towers, totaling 1,200 rooms. It will also include a 15,000-seat stadium, convention space, dining, shopping, entertainment, indoor water parks, and an outdoor park for families.
In a press release released on Monday, Mohegan Gaming said Si will be in charge of “guiding strategic planning and operational outcomes at Mohegan Inspire” as president.
“His mission is to oversee budgets and business plans to ensure that the company’s vision is implemented at all levels, and to lead performance measurement and improvement efforts. He will also lead the company’s foreign relations with government agencies and business partners and serve as the company’s representative director.”
Prior to joining the Inspire project, Si worked for Macau casino operator Sands China Ltd. and Macao Legend Development Ltd., a Macau-based casino services company.
Monday’s announcement from Mohegan Gaming quoted Si as saying, “As I launch my next venture for the Mohegan brand in Korea, I am motivated by the promise of innovation, rich cultural exchange, and enhanced partnerships. This is an exciting new chapter for the brand, and I am committed to leading Mohegan towards a future filled with inspiration and growth.”
The announcement also included remarks from Ray Pineault, president and CEO of Mohegan Gaming. “With Mohegan Inspire, we are expanding our horizons beyond what we once thought was possible,” he said.
Mr. Pinault added, “Mohegan’s move to the global market is not just about growth, but also about sharing our heritage and spirit with the world. Our future is bright, and I look forward to embracing this next chapter with Chen Si and Wade Hawke.”
Moegan Inspire’s new COO Mr Hawk previously served as chief financial officer and interim president of Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati Real Estate in the United States, and as vice president of strategy for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, an Orlando, Florida-based theme parks and entertainment company.
