Goyang Sono
They started the game with a fast-motion offense in front of Park Ji-hoon (184 cm G) and Lens Abando (188 cm F),
but lapses in defense led to easy baskets for Sono’s Lee Jung-hyun (186 cm G) and Jeon Sung-hyun (188 cm F), and they trailed 45-54 after two quarters.
After the third quarter, Daryl Monroe came back into the game and Jung Hyo-geun added to the scoring, turning the tide to make it 70-69.
However, an offensive foul on Abando in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter cost the team the chance to win the game.
In the midst of the disappointing loss, Chung is worried about the performance of new recruit Choi Sung-won.
Choi played 25:17 on the night, scoring four points and dishing out three assists.
Notably, all four of his points came from free throws and he shot 0% (0/5) from beyond the arc,
which is his strong suit.
Choi Sung-won
Choi, who came in for Abando with 4:05 left in the first quarter,
attempted a three-pointer but missed, and fouled Jeon Sung-hyun on defense, allowing a three-point basket count.
In the second quarter, Choi started at two-guard alongside Park Ji-hoon and was involved in the offense and looked good until he made an assist with a direct pass to Jung Hyo-geun (202 cm, F) in a fastbreak situation with 8:37 left,
but after that, he struggled on offense and was replaced by Park Ji-hoon.
Choi’s shooting was also poor in the third and fourth quarters.
After being substituted in the middle of the third quarter,
Choi had an open look at a three-pointer following a fast break but missed the rim.
Despite missing, he drew a foul on Sono Stablewook with 1:07 left in the third quarter and made the free throw to help Jung Kwan-jang pull within 70-69.
